First situated on the lush prairies of New York City's Spanish Harlem, and then the gold-panning hills of Oakland CA, Meow is now relocating to the Tokyo metropolitan area. Meow is the locus of productivity for Terre Thaemlitz. All of Terre's albums and remixes were produced at Meow.

Meow has undergone tremendous change since it was first established in the spring of 1992, from a basic home MIDI setup to a professional digital editing and mixing facility. The majority of sounds coming out of Meow are now generated and/or filtered directly on a PowerMac. Software packages include: IRCAM AudioSculpt, Hyperprism, Csound.ppc, OverSYTE/ROSSTOOLS, SoundHack, LemurPro, Out of Phase, Opcode Sudio Vision Pro, Sound Designer II.

The original synths (none of which are analogue by the way) are still around. Most cherished among them are two Casio FZ-10M samplers and a heavily edited Korg M1.
